In this paper we discuss the variational inequality problems VIP(X, F), where F is assumed to be a strongly monotone mapping from n to n, and the feasible set X = [l, u] has the form of box constraints. Based on the Chen-Harker-Kanzow smoothing functions, first we present an explicit continuation algorithm (ECA) for solving VIP(X, F). Presented here is a characterization of aberration in medical ultrasound imaging. The characterization is optimal in the sense of maximizing the expected energy in a modified beamformer output of the received acoustic backscatter. Aberration correction based on this characterization takes the form of an aberration correction filter. The situation considered is frequently found in applications when imaging organs through a body wall: aberration is introduced in a layer close to the transducer, and acoustic backscatter from a scattering region behind the body wall is measured at the transducer surface. The scattering region consists of scatterers randomly distributed with very short correlation length compared to the acoustic wavelength of the transmit pulse. The scatterer distribution is therefore assumed to be delta correlated. This paper shows how maximizing the expected energy in a modified beamformer output signal naturally leads to eigenfunctions of a Fredholm integral operator, where the associated kernel function is a spatial correlation function of the received stochastic signal. Aberration characterization and aberration correction are presented for simulated data constructed to mimic aberration introduced by the abdominal wall. The results compare well with what is obtainable using data from a simulated point source. 相似文献

The state-of-the-art, combined microprobe and structural analysis of the metal site vacancies and occupancies patterns reveal a commensurate organic-inorganic interface and point out the importance of halogen.halogen van der Waals interactions to future studies aiming at directing interface topologies. The electronic structure, room-temperature metallic character and metal-insulator transition at ca. 70 K of the two-dimensional organic slabs are retained upon alloying of the inorganic sublattice with monocations. The room-temperature conductivity of the metallic lead-silver alloy is 2 orders of magnitude larger than that of beta-(EDT-TTF-I(2))(2)(.+)[(Pb(5/6) square (1/6)I(2))(1/3-)](3). The effect of longitudinal relaxation of ligand protons on saturation transfer difference (STD) was investigated by using a known binding system, dihydrofolate reductase and trimethoprim. The results indicate that T1 relaxation of ligand protons has a severe interference on the epitope map derived from a STD measurement. When the T1s of individual ligand protons are distinctly different, STD experiments may not give an accurate epitope map for the ligand-target interactions. Measuring the relaxation times prior to mapping is strongly advised. A saturation time shorter than T1s is suggested for improving the potential epitope map. Reduction in temperature was seen to enhance the saturation efficiency in small to medium size targets. 相似文献

We produce p-harmonic morphisms by conformal foliations and Clifford systems. First, we give a useful criterion for a foliation on an m-dimensional Riemannian manifold locally generated by conformal fields to produce p-harmonic morphisms. By using this criterion we manufacture conformal foliations, with codimension not equal to p, which are locally the fibres of p-harmonic morphisms. Then we give a new approach for the construction of p-harmonic morphisms from R^m/{0} to R^n. By the well-known representation of Clifford algebras, we find an abundance of the new 2/3 (m + 1)-harmonic morphism Ф: R^m/{0} → R^n where m = 2κδ(n - 1). 相似文献

Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) is a new method to detect trace-gas qualitatively or quantificationally based on the scan characteristic of the diode laser to obtain the absorption spectroscopy in the characteristic absorption region. A time-sharing scanning open-path TDLAS system using two near infrared distributed feedback (DFB) tunable diode lasers is designed to detect CH4 and H2S in leakage of natural gas. A low-cost Fresnel lens is used in this system as receiving optics which receives the laser beam reflected by a solid corner cube reflector with a distance of up to about 60 m. High sensitivity is achieved by means of wavelength-modulation spectroscopy with second-harmonic detection. The minimum detection limits of 1.1 ppm·m for CH4 and 15 ppm·m for H2S are demonstrated with a total optical path of 120 m. The simulation monitoring experiment of nature gas leakage was carried out with this system. According to the receiving light efficiency of optical system and detectable minimum light intensity of detection, the detectable optical path of the system can achieve 1 - 2 km. The sensor is suitable for natural gas leakage monitoring application. 相似文献

A novel method based on diffusion NMR for the epitope mapping of ligand binding is presented. The intermolecular NOE builds up during a long diffusion period and creates a deviation from the linearity. The ligand proton nearest the protein generates the strongest NOE from protein during the diffusion period and has the largest deviation. Therefore, this diffusion artifact can be used to characterize the ligand binding epitope. The concept was investigated using dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) and its ligand trimethoprim (TMP), and the epitope map of TMP on DHFR generated with this method is in excellent agreement with the structural and dynamic studies by crystallography and NMR, as well as the medicinal chemistry results. 相似文献
